We carry out various environmental preservation activities in order to reduce impact on the environment in business activities.

Energy usage reduction activities

Our main photomask products are ultra-precision materials manufactured in clean rooms, and one of our tasks is to reduce usage of electric power to stably operate manufacturing equipment and air conditioning equipment to maintain cleanliness with respect to impact on the environment. We actively promote energy usage reduction activities, such as upgrades to our energy-saving facilities, including requirements related to the Energy Saving Act.

Waste reduction activities

Our recycling activities are carried out not only for reuse of blanks (quartz glass) for our photomask products but to eliminate waste which is generated in business activities. We promote waste reduction activities through awareness of circulation of resources such as used paper, cardboard and waste plastic.

Holding internal lecture meetings for environmental issues

We invite lecturers from outside of the company to present lectures in order to increase environmental awareness of employees by covering timely topics and/or local environmental themes.

Visiting environment related facilities

We set up an Environment Committee for the purpose of enlightening environmental awareness of employees. Committee members take a lead role in visiting external environment-related facilities and take advantage of exchanges with external organizations. Based on information and the knowledge obtained, we conduct various activities such as information dissemination on the internal bulletin and internal event planning, etc.

Internal environment activities (Shiga Farm)

We operate a farm on the premises of the Shiga Plant, and grow and harvest crops. By conducting activities such as growing and eating our very own crops, we can experience the growth of plants and feel the blessings of nature.
