IC tags can be called RF tag, RFID tag, electronic tag, wireless tag, and contactless tag, and they are small tags, IC chips built-in, have a wireless communication function via the radio waves, and information is written on IC, Integrated Circuits.
It means the tag which has the function of wireless communication by radio wave and so on.
The structure is integrated by IC chip and antenna.
The antenna receive the radio wave transmitted by the reader and convert it to the electricity so that the recorded information into the IC chip can be returned by the radio wave.
By utilizing the ID recorded into IC chip, IC tag can be applied for the traceability of goods.
Since it makes the individual identification possible by radio wave, it is also called as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification).
