We carry out not only environment preservation activities in business activities but also various social contribution activities.
Donations to Children’s Cafeterias
We support the work of local “children’s cafeterias” by providing donations to help fund their operations. Through a system that ensures support reaches the organizations that need it, we are committed to providing ongoing assistance.
Supporting Japanese Red Cross Blood Drives
In cooperation with the Japanese Red Cross, we invite a mobile blood donation bus to our workplace twice a year to hold blood drives. By creating an environment where employees can participate easily, we provide opportunities to contribute to society in a sustainable and manageable way. The donated blood is used to support the treatment of patients who require transfusions due to injury or illness.
Local cleanup activities in the surrounding environments of business entities
As social contribution activities to local areas where our business entities are located, we conduct cleanup activities once a week in an area near our business entities. Our sincere activities and efforts are highly appreciated by local people with whom greetings are always pleasantly exchanged.
Wide-area cleanup activities in the surrounding environments of business entities
In addition to the weekly cleanup activities in local areas, the Environment Committee holds activities of wide-area clean up in the surrounding environments of our business entities several times a year as an event.
Contributing to Biodiversity
To help preserve the biodiversity of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture—Japan’s largest lake—our employees and their families regularly participate in the Lake Biwa Invasive Fish Eradication Tournament. At each event, participants catch and remove over 100 invasive fish, such as bluegill and largemouth bass, helping to restore the lake's native ecosystem.
Ecocap movement
We collect plastic bottle caps at each of our offices which are then collected by recycling companies, thereby reducing plastic waste and contributing to the realization of a recycling-oriented society through recycling of used materials and reduction of CO2 emissions.
Sponsoring the NPO Kids Art Project
Aligning with the goals of the NPO Kids Art Project, we feature children’s artwork—such as paintings and paper collages—on the diaphragms of ZellaMed stethoscopes. We sell these stethoscopes at pediatric conferences and via the project's e-commerce site. By raising awareness of the project, we help improve the medical environment for pediatric wards and young patients.
