Difference between RF tag and NFC tag

RFID is an abbreviation for “”Radio Frequency Identification”” and means the technology to exchange the information between RF Tag and Reader/Writer by Near-field communication.
RF tags can be categorized into UHF band tag and HF band tag based on their frequency. NFC tag is one of the HF band tags’ standard and system.

NFC, Near Field Communication, is the standard for near-field wireless communication developed by Sony and Philips.
NFC tag is one of the standard or method for RF tag.
NFC is the abbreviations of Near Field Communication, which means the short-range radio communication. NFC is standardized by ISO/IEC 18092.
The used frequency is 13.56MHz and it has the compatibility with the such popular standard as ISO/IEC 14443 ( Mifare and others), FeliCa and so on.
